Re-writing the past or pretending that a difficult experience never took place diminishes its value.

It is true that the past ultimately becomes an illusion and that the future is a dream. In reality there is only the present. However, the past when acknowledged with love empowers both the present and the dream of the future.

Experience—good or bad—always empowers.

We can detach ourselves from the past—in a way that we can become a witness to whatever happened, i.e.: adopting the attitude of "That happened and I survived it," or "I did this and I'm sorry, but I learned—my soul expanded."

This should always be one's practice, because in the divine scheme of things, everything that's happened in your past happened for a reason.

Blessings and love,
